A History of Generous Giving

The programs of Lutheran Ranches of the Rockies are life-changing. Each child, youth or adult who

experiences God's grace in the mountains surrounding Sky Ranch and Sleepy Owl Ranch is changed forever. L Double R is a nonprofit organization that owns and operates Sky Ranch and Sleepy Owl Ranch. It also operates the Four Winds Servant Camps and traveling resource programs. The comprehensive programs combine elements of God's Word with worship and devotion, community building, creation learning, health and service.

The financial support Lutheran Ranches of the Rockies receives each year is critical to its ability to fulfill its commitment to those it serves. The Annual Fund provides up to 30% of the budget, reducing camp fees so that hundreds of youth might participate in camp activities. The Camper Corral also provides camp scholarship funds to dozens of needy children and family each year.

The Build Up...Send Forth Capital Campaign seeks an additional $2.5 million in funds for major construction and improvements. L Double R also receives charitable and deferred gifts to preserve its historic mission for future generations. Information on wills and estate planning is available.

The Annual Fund

Friends of Lutheran Ranches of the Rockies can make a gift to the Annual Fund in many ways:

• Congregations and organizations support many of the program activities of Sky Ranch and Sleepy Owl Ranch through annual gifts.
• Friends of the Mountains include hundreds of people who provide an annual gift between $50 and $5000.
• The Camper Corral provides scholarship gifts to needy children and their families. A gift of any amount can make camp available to all.
• Memorial Gifts can be made to honor the life of a loved one.

The Build Up...Send Forth Capital Campaign

The Build Up...Send Forth Capital Campaign seeks to raise funds to expand the ministry of Sky Ranch for future generations.

The Campaign will enable the L Double R to...

...install state of the art utility services for an expanding mountain campus.
...upgrade its family ministry center and campground.
...construct new restroom facilities and youth cabins.
...expand year-round programs through the purchase of the Sleepy Owl Ranch located 35 miles north of Sky Ranch.
...expand dining and kitchen services and remodel the lodge into a comfortable retreat facility.

Thus far, the campaign has raised $1,000,000 in donations and pledges and many projects have been completed. Land payments have also been made on Sleepy Owl Ranch, the new acquistion that will allow the organization to expand its retreat and conference activities in years to come.

Planned Gifts

Friends of Lutheran Ranches of the Rockies are able to make provisions for L Double R in one or more of the following ways:

• A bequest in a new or revised will or through the additon of a codicil.
• A future gift from an IRA, retirement plan, or other qualified plan.
• A gift annuity arrangement.
• A life estate, retaining the use of your gift during your life.
• A trust such as an irrevocable charitable remainder trust that can benefit the donors today and the L Double R in future years.
• An insurance policy.

Donate Online

As of September 15th, 2007 the L Double R has begun to accept donations online. We have worked with Thrivent Financial and Vanco Services, LLC for all of our credit card purchases for years. This secure, online way to donate to the L Double R offers you yet another way to make ministry happen. To donate, please click the link below. You will recieve an email reciept.

A service fee to Vanco is involved when you make an online donation. When donating with a credit card, 97% of your donation will go to the L Double R. If you wish to have 100% of your donation go to the L Double R, please make the donation via checking or savings withdrawal, or simply send your donation in to our office.
