Every day we celebrate the arts, but October is the month to commemorate the arts in a big way. It is National Arts and Humanities Month-the largest annual celebration for the arts and humanities in the nation!
National
Arts and Humanities Month (NAHM) is a coast-to-coast collective
recognition of the importance of culture in America. It is designed to
encourage all Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities
in their lives, and to begin a lifelong habit of active participation
in the arts and humanities.
Let's join together in a marketing effort to promote Fort Collins Arts and Humanities events. The month-long campaign will include an emailed calendar of events, social media and press.
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?
Send your logo and list of events happening in October (for the email calendar and social media) by MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th at 5:00 P.M. to kmiller@beetstreet.org.
- Beet
Street will coordinate a special NAHM-branded e-newsletter promoting
the week's upcoming events plus links to participating organizations'
websites. The e-newsletter will be sent on Fridays (September 30,
October 7, 14, 21, and 28th) to the 7,500 addresses on the Beet Street list and organizations will be encouraged to send it to their lists as well.
- Press releases promoting the participating arts organizations events will also be part of this promotional effort.
- Facebook and Twitter posts highlighting local organizations, events and arts and humanities facts
- Special
Arts and Drafts networking event on October 18th from 5-7pm at the
newly re-opened Lincoln Center will include an arts advocacy element
focused on influencing our elected officials to support arts and
humanities federally and here at home.
We
are using free marketing efforts - all you have to do is provide us
with your upcoming events for October and help spread the word about
National Arts and Humanities Month through social media and your
website.
