Request cards are available through Poudre Valley Hospital birth preparation classes, on the maternity ward, or during post-birth wellness visits at the PVH Wee Steps Office. McKee Medical Center also includes visit request cards in their take home materials for new moms. Visit request calls directly to our office are also welcome.

Ideally, the Warm Welcome visit takes place four to eight weeks after birth, but may occur at any time. Once a visit has been requested, our office will contact the family to determine the time and type of visit that is best for them. We have many families that want to be sure daddy or grandma is present during the visit. Visits may occur during the day, evening, or even on the weekend. Covering the materials and answering family questions generally takes about one hour.
One size does NOT fit all!

We have responded to the needs of busy families with several visit options. We will ask you which of the following options fits your family the best:
  • Home Visit- A trained volunteer contacts the family to set up a convenient time to meet at the family's home. This works especially well for families who have additional children, or those who are restricted to evening or weekend visits.


  • Group Presentations- Many families, especially first time parents, like to gather to share experiences, get ideas from other parents and enjoy social interaction. Groups are held twice a month at the office in Fort Collins and once a month at McKee Wellness Conference Center in Loveland. Please check our Current Events and Program News page for group dates.


  • Walk-in Visits- We are more than happy to set up a one-on-one office visit with any family. This works well for families that live outside the Larimer County visit area but still want our local materials. We've served families from Weld County, Boulder County, and even Wyoming this way.
