CASA, Inc. of Larimer County

CASA, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt (501)c(3) organization that recruits and trains volunteers to work as Court Appointed Special Advocates. These volunteers are appointed by the Juvenile Judge, Eighth Judicial District, to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children within our court system.

CASA, Inc. manages the Harmony House family visitation centers in Fort Collins and Loveland, where supervised visitations and exchanges (custody/divorce) can occur within a warm, homelike atmosphere.

Thank you all for helping make Invisible Kids VISIBLE!

CASA Volunteer, Daniele Olagnero, mentioned her experience being an "invisible" child in the child welfare system and how she would cry wishing she had a parent who loved her. CASA's belief that every child deserves a safe and permanent home resonates with her and she works with CASA children to help them be VISIBLE: Validated, Intelligent, Survivor, Invincible, Beautiful, Living and Empowered.

Magistrate Berenato spoke of the difficult circumstances of the kids she has seen in Court who are victims of abuse and/or neglect. She mentioned the many different adults from GALs, DHS case workers and therapists that may revolve through these kids lives during the time they are in the legal system which may be up to three years. The lucky ones, she said, are those that have one CASA volunteer through the entire process. A CASA volunteer is not only a consistent, caring friend but also provides valuable informaton and insight to the Court.
