Make a Difference! Take Part in Fort Collins Audubon!
Are you interested in giving something back to our natural
environment? Are you looking for a way to make a difference in your community
and in Larimer County? Are you excited about the mission of Fort Collins
Audubon? Is there a leader within, eager to take our society to new levels? Fort
Collins Audubon is ready to give you the chance! FCAS is now offering
several positions to people like you.

Program Chair*
Finance/Fundraising Committee Chair*
 | Recruit additional members of committee from Board
and general membership |
 | Schedule and preside over committee meetings, as
necessary |
 | Submit estimated committee expenses for coming
year |
 | Provide written committee periodic reports and
annual report |
 | Initiate and oversee fundraising efforts
throughout the year |
 | Establish and maintain relationships with
potential corporate and private sponsors and donors |
 | Assist Birdathon Coordinator in obtaining pledges |
Conservation Committee Chair*
 |
Serve as member of Executive Committee of the
Board
|
 |
Be available through phone and email for members to
contact with conservation issues
|
 |
Write three monthly articles for the Ptarmigan
(or appoint someone else) "Take Action", "Raspberries and Kudos", and
"Conservation Corner"
|
 |
Schedule and conduct monthly conservation committee
meetings (organize, write the agenda, etc.)
|
 |
Contact committee members about issues and upcoming
meetings
|
 |
Bring issues requiring Board approval before the
Board. Sign and mail conservation letters
|
 |
Attend the annual Lobbying Workshop (in Denver in
February) if possible
|
 |
Act as appropriate on conservation issues that have
been committee (and/or Board) approved by attending hearings, writing
letters, etc
|
Booth Coordinator
 | Create calendar of FCAS booth events for the coming year (at least 3
to 4 events) |
 | Communicate with event sponsors as needed to
register FCAS booth |
 | Coordinate storage/transportation of booth
furniture and related items |
 | Recruit volunteers to staff booth |
 | Train volunteers (handouts, workshop, etc) on
effective booth protocol and communication with visitors |
 | Work with Public Relations, Membership, Education,
Treasurer, etc. as needed for booth handouts, donations, sales, new
memberships, etc. |
Education Committee
 | Help with outreach – children, special programs,
beginning birdwatching |
 | Help with special events – develop beginning
birdwatching, comedy routine, Procession of River Species, new Rocky
Mountain Raptor Program, etc. |
 | Develop new display board for exhibits – photos,
text |
 | Help staff booths at events |
 | Research local events for FCAS to participate in |

 | Distribute work of committee among committee members (delegate and
appoint) |
