FORT COLLINS AUDUBON SOCIETY BOARD MEETING
Minutes for October 7, 1999

MEMBERS PRESENT: Sue Kenney, Bill Miller, Linda McNamara, Kathleen Tracy Dale
Agger, Louise Creager, Jackie Boss, Dave Dubois, Ron Harden, Joel Hurmence, Rick
Schroeder, Barb Turnbull, John Waddell
- The board approved the May and August meeting minutes. - Ron Harden was
selected as the Chapter Representative to the State Board for Audubon of
Colorado. Ron will serve a one year term.
- The board agreed to pay $100 to FortNet as a voluntary donation for use of its
Web hosting service. Joel Hurmence will work with Jon Burch to revamp the look
of the Web pages.
- The next cleanup date for the Adopt a Natural Area (Fossil Creek), will be
Saturday, November 6th from 1-4:00 p.m. All board members are encouraged to
help. Bring work gloves. Sue will announce it at the next meeting to solicit
additional volunteers.
- McNamara wrote write a letter to the editor of the Coloradoan indicating the
chapter's endorsement of the Open Space initiative. Others are encouraged to
write letters, put up yard signs and encourage friends and colleagues to vote.
The election is November 3rd.
- We need a volunteer to edit the newsletter, as John would like to turn it over
by the end of the year. John says it takes about 4 hours per month.
- Creager, Education Chair, reported that she has Audubon Adventure programs
going in the Poudre School District in grades 3 and 4 of a number of schools.
She has been successful working with CSU to recruit students needing a practicum.
- FCAS is supportive of the efforts to list the black tailed prairie dog as
endangered. Comments will be forwarded to the Fish and Wildlife Service.
- Don't forget the annual slide show/potluck fest on December 9th.
