The following includes links to agencies directly involved in planning, advocating, funding, developing and/or providing low income and affordable housing mainly in Larimer County.

Public Agencies


City of Fort Collins Advance Planning Department/Affordable Housing Programs
These programs include:
  1. Incentives for agencies and developers in the creation and expansion of low income and affordable housing
  2. Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), a federal entitlement grant program for projects related to community development of which 65% is allocated to affordable housing projects
  3. Home Buyers Assistance, providing down payment assistance to eligible applicants
  4. Land Bank program which acquires unimproved sites that are appropriate for future affordable housing development.

Jointly sponsored by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority and the Colorado Division of Housing as a public service to residents of Colorado.
The goals of the site are:
  1. Help Coloradoans find and maintain quality, safe and decent places to live.
  2. Provide a clearinghouse for affordable housing and related services.
  3. Facilitate operating efficiencies in the affordable housing market.

Colorado Division of Housing
Provides gap financing for construction of new or existing multi-family housing and funding for rehabilitation of owner occupied housing and down payment assistance for purchase of housing. All beneficiaries of the funding must be low to moderate income households.


Fort Collins Housing Authority
Provides public housing, affordable housing, single room occupancy and Section 8 certificates.


Loveland Housing Authority
Provides public housing and Section 8 certificates. One time rental assistance.

Nonprofit Agencies


CARE Housing
Provides housing for low- and low-moderate income families with children. Must be employed.


Colorado Housing Investment Fund Coalition
The Coalition is focused on establishing a statewide housing investment fund with a dedicated and dependable source of public revenue for the creation and preservation of affordable housing throughout Colorado.


Disabled Resource Services
Through advocacy and raising awareness, promotes availability of low and moderate income affordable housing accessible to persons with disabilities.


Funding Partners for Housing Solutions
Funding Partners offers two main programs:
  1. Home to Home Ownership Program, which provides down-payment assistance to low-income households
  2. Mammel Affordable Housing Loan Fund, which provides housing developers with below market rate, flexible short-term financing to acquire, renovate and develop affordable housing units


Habitat for Humanity
Fort Collins Office
Loveland Office
Habitat homes are built primarily with donated materials and volunteer labor. Families must be able to pay monthly payments and contribute 300-500 hours of sweat equity, working on their own homes or other homes.


Homelessness Prevention Initiative
The Homelessness Prevention Initiative provides rental assistance to members of our community who face the loss of their housing through unforeseen emergencies.

Provides:

  1. Cash grants or loans, in the form of a check made out to the landlord
  2. Financial guidance
  3. Referral to appropriate services
  4. Mediation between residents and property owners

Housing Colorado
Provides strong and unified voice in support of quality, affordable housing for low and moderate income Coloradoans.


NC Home Programs
NC Home Programs provides a summary of housing related programs for home buyers in the nine counties that make up the Northern Colorado area. A number of programs provide home buying assistance to individuals based on income.


Neighbor to Neighbor
Provides:
  1. Transitional low-income housing for homeless families with children
  2. Owns and manages other apartments for low-income families with children
  3. Rental, landlord/tenant, mortgage default and pre-purchase counseling
  4. Emergency rental assistance
  5. First-time home buyers classes.

Northern Colorado Aids Project
To improve the quality of life for those affected by HIV/AIDS and reduce the spread of HIV.
